Land Use Permit Applications

Summary information on current land use permit applications submitted to NJDEP for stream encroachment, wetlands, etc. is provided to alert interested parties to the construction activities being planned within the watershed. Each complete permit application and supporting information can be reviewed at the municipal office of the community involved. Comments must be submitted directly to the NJDEP within 15 of the posted date unless otherwise indicated. NJDEP within the time period indicated, in order to be considered. Please do not submit comments to the NNJWA or the Bergen County Department of Health Services.

(9/20/07) Alpine/Demarest
F.E. Alpine, Inc. is submitting an application for a permit or approval to the Land Use Regulation Element, Department of Environmental Protection and Energy, for a Transion Area Waiver General Permit 10A and General Permit 11. If approved the permits will allow certain regulated activities as defined in N.J.A.C. 7:7A-6.2 to occur in a transition area and state open water. A transition area is an area adjacent to a freshwater wetlands and serves as an integral component of the freshwater wetlands ecosystem. It can extend up to 150 feet from the freshwater wetlands boundary. The permits will also approve the construction of a bridge and utility crossings to service four new homes at Frick Estates Section III (Block 119, Lots 1.05 - 1.07; Block 120, Lots 1.03, 1.04, 1.051 and 1.052). John & Patricia Misha are submitting an application for a permit or approval to the NJDEP for a stream encroachment permit and a freshwater wetlands transition area averaging plan for Lot 2, Block 1101, Borough of Westwood, Bergen County, NJ. The application is required to establish a stream encroachment line, place fill within the flood fringe, and clear & re-grade land within the wetlands transition area. This disturbance is required in order to erect a minor subdivision on the property in order to construct two additional residential dwellings on the property. The project does not involve the disturbance of more than one acre of ground not the installation of more than 1/4 acre of net new impervious surfaces. Therefore, the NJDEP's stormwater management regulations are not applicable to this project. The permit or approval will either establish the boundary of freshwater wetlands on the above property, or will authorize the applicant to conduct regulated activities on the property at 746 New Bridge Road (Block 1001, Lots 6 - 10) in Teaneck, Bergen County. The application is for a Letter of Interpretation and a Stream Encroachment Permit. The activities for which the application requests NJDEP approval are: cutting or clearing trees and/or other vegetation, placement of pavement or other impervious surface, placement of one or more buildings or other structures, and compliance with Net Fill regulations.
